S₁ - S₂

The two “S’s” represent the two “sisters” (soeurs, in French) that make up the wine. Each vineyard parcel is symbolically designated with an “S”.

S₁ represents Puligny-Montrachet “Les Femelotes,” a vineyard parcel in the storied Puligny appellation located midway up the slope. Soil here is rich in limestone and adds citrusy, floral, and mineral notes to the wine.

S₂ represents Meursault “Les Coutures,” which sits towards the base of the slope near Puligny-Montrachet and has a higher proportion of calcareous clay. Grapes grown in this parcel contribute orchard fruit notes to the wine – green apple, pear, as well as a hint of almond.
